Does JD Vance Wear Eyeliner? Many Still Believe He Does

Vice President JD Vance may have plenty on his plate, but online debates seem to focus on just one thing: his eyes. Specifically, the persistent speculation over whether he wears eyeliner.

Despite repeated denials—including from his wife, Usha Vance—the rumors about his seemingly enhanced lash line refuse to fade. With every public appearance, social media erupts with fresh jokes and renewed curiosity.

The Eyeliner Conspiracy

Talk of Vance’s striking blue eyes started gaining traction when his name was floated as a potential vice president. Even Donald Trump weighed in on his running mate’s appearance.

“He looks like a young Abraham Lincoln,” Trump remarked during a Fox News interview.

But lately, it’s not his resemblance to Lincoln that has people talking—it’s his eyelashes.

Usha Vance previously told Puck News that her husband’s dramatic lashes are “all natural,” admitting, “I’ve always been jealous of those lashes.”

Even former congressman George Santos jumped into the debate, insisting Vance doesn’t wear makeup. “I’ve met him in person before he was a senator, and I can confirm he has long eyelashes. They cast a shadow on his waterline when in studios full of lights,” Santos posted on X in October 2024.

Still, social media isn’t convinced. “Yes, he does,” one person replied. “Is it from Sephora or Ulta?”

Emo Vibes and Maybelline Jokes

The eyeliner speculation resurfaced yet again during a recent meeting between Vance, Donald Trump, and Irish leader Micheál Martin. Journalist Aaron Rupar shared a clip of Vance speaking and quipped, “JD Vance went heavy on the eyeliner this morning.”

That comment set off a wave of reactions. “He’s in his emo phase,” one user joked. Another asked, “Why does this dude always look like he’s about to break into an emo ballad?”

The beauty-related jabs kept rolling in. “Maybelline called and said they’ve had to ramp up eyeliner production to keep up with JD Vance’s demand,” one person tweeted.

Even after Vance was booed at the Kennedy Center on March 13, someone quipped, “People probably have the same reaction when Vance walks into movies, restaurants, and the eyeliner section at Sephora.”

Critics or Just Jealous?

While much of the teasing comes from Vance’s critics, some argue the fascination is fueled by envy. “They’re just jealous of his great eyes,” one defender commented.
